Naughty in the Backseat would like to welcome Lacey Wolfe, author of Amber’s Muse to the blog.  She is touring her book around the blogs with the help of Sizzling PR.  Sit back and learn about this interesting book!
Naughty – If someone else wrote a blurb about your book what would it say?
Lacey – Hot and hunky Jax has always had a thing for Amber, but she just hasn’t noticed him. Early one morning, he bumps into Amber and she says she has a proposition for him. When she finally tells Jax just what she needs help with, it certainly isn’t what he expected. Amber needs his help constructing the intimate scenes. Its an offer he can’t resist and maybe this will help Amber finally see him as more then just the dorky neighbor.

Naughty – Who is your favorite character in your new release? Why?
Lacey – My favorite would be my heroine, Amber. In this book I feel like she had a lot of growth. Before Jax she didn’t have a lot of fun and I think rather selfish. Through Jax, she learned to let go and see outside of the box.

Naughty – Do you see yourself in any of your characters?
Lacey – I’m a bit of an organized freak like Amber. In my story she is hoping to be published, and since this is my first, I too was hoping for the same. Also, ever morning Amber is thankful that the night before she set her coffeemaker. That was pulled from my life, because the last think I want to do when waking is measure coffee and water.

Naughty – What was your favorite scene?

Lacey – When Amber finally notices the stud Jax is. Up until one rainy night, she never saw the potential in him. With his hair a mess, and man scent radiating off his body, she finally takes notice.

Naughty – What’s the hardest part of writing a book?
Lacey – For me, I always hit a spot where it feels like I ran into a brick wall. Getting past that brick wall is the challenge for me. There are many started manuscripts that hit that wall and never got finished.

Naughty – What’s your favorite part of writing a book?
Lacey – Creating the scenes. The characters are usually in my head, yelling to get out. I like to create their story.

Naughty – What book is currently on your nightstand?
Lacey – I currently have my ereader sitting there getting dusty. I just upgraded to a smartphone and am loving the kindle app. Though, I have some good  books I should get on there to read. I have a Julie James I have put off to long.

Naughty – How can readers stay in touch?
Lacey – The best place to find all my links are on my website. www.laceywolfe.com
I am on twitter quite a bit talking about writing, kids, dogs, or anything that strikes my fancy.

Naughty – Where is your work available?

Naughty – Anything else you would like to add?

Lacey – Thank you so much for having me. My next release is Fool Me Once and it will be the first in a four book novella series. Its release date is December 19th, 2011. So, if you enjoyed Amber’s Muse, I hope you will add this next one to your list.

Naughty in the Backseat would like to thanks Lacey for dropping by and sharing some information with us about her book.  We hope that she returns soon!

We’ve asked her to comment on where she gets her inspiration from. Without further ado, Her is Vanessa!

The inspiration for the title of my book-

Do you ever wake up in the morning with a song playing in your head or just a few lines of one? It happens to me once in awhile. I don’t know why because it’s never a song I’ve heard the night before. Maybe it makes its way into my dreams or something. And yes, sometimes it’s a song I don’t really like and it gets annoying but not always. Sometimes one of those songs can come to my rescue.

Earlier this year I was thinking about what to write next. I’d just finished my Brazen Ladies trilogy which some of you might know are all set during the Regency. I love this period in history and it’s always fun to create Regency characters. I had lots of fun with these stories but felt I needed to do a full 180.

I’m not a fan of Westerns…you know the guy’s type of Westerns without the hunky cowboy but I turned on the TV one day and Silverado was playing on the History Channel. I’d seen it before but decided to watch it again. While I did I thought if my next story featured a cowboy it would definitely be different to one with a Regency Rake as the hero. And really what’s sexier than a cowboy?

I usually let ideas brew in my head for a couple of weeks and scenes and bits of dialogue start forming. I knew that this cowboy would be living in Wyoming and then the name Connor O’Riordan popped into my head. But what was his story…he’s a guy that’s had his heart set on the sales rep but she’s spoken for.

Of course I had to give this guy a happy ending and before you do that you need a happy beginning. I knew I wanted to open the story with the sales rep breaking up with her guy leaving the door wide open for Connor.

Then I thought, well if Connor’s such a hunk then why isn’t he married? I knew he wasn’t commitment shy so what’s his story? Then it hit me he’s had some heartache in the past. I won’t tell you and spoil the story what that is. So with that in mind I knew this really nice and sexy guy deserved to get the girl and have his pain healed.

That was all set in motion and I was ready to begin penning the story. Sometimes it takes me weeks to come up with a title. Don’t know about everyone else but it can be one of the toughest parts of writing a book. When I’m saving a file and don’t have a title yet, I’ll give a strange tag like ‘sexy historical’ but I hate doing it because sometimes the title helps shapes the story.

I brainstormed for a few days and just couldn’t come up with anything for this one but I was itching to start it and thought the tag line for saving it on my laptop would be ‘sexy cowboy story’. It didn’t sound right but the story needed to be told. That morning I got up and started to hear the song ‘Then Came You’ playing in my head. One line stuck out, the bit about never knowing love before… And I thought Eureka, I got it. This story will be Then Came You. Connor O’Riordan didn’t know true love until Gillian Matthews walked into his life.

Luckily not all of them give me that much trouble and this time a song that I couldn’t get out of my head came to the rescue.

Blurb-

Connor O’Riordan had his heart set on Gillian Matthews the first day she stepped onto his ranch but the only problem was she had a boyfriend. He’d made her promise that if the two of them ever broke up she’d tell him. Gillian is a woman of her word and when Connor finds out she’s now available he’ll do anything to woo and romance the lady of his dreams. The best way to start…invite her to spend Thanksgiving at his ranch.

Naughty in the Backseat would like to welcome W. Lynn Chantale to the blog.  She is dropping by today to share some information and tell us about her books!

Naughty – Tell us a bit about yourself

W. Lynn – A little about me? I live in a small rural community in Michigan, married my high school sweetheart, and we have three children. I write African-American and Interracial sensual and erotic romance. I love milk chocolate, especially Dove’s chocolate truffles or the caramel-filled squares (Godiva and Ghiradelli are acceptable). I also play the bass guitar when the Muse begs for a bit of distraction.
Naughty – Can you describe your book in your own words?
W. Lynn – I have two. Seducing His Wife is will a husband’s plan of seduction be enough to heal a wife’s heart? Breaking Delia’s Rules is five days, three rules, one sizzling seduction.
Naughty – What is your favorite character?
W. Lynn – Nessa, a secondary character In Seducing His Wife, is my favorite character although she runs neck and neck with the two little boys featured. She loves speaking her mind. In Breaking Delia’s Rules Delia is just so sassy and self assured, I wish I could be like her.
Naughty – What is your favorite scene?
W. Lynn – My fave scene from Breaking Delia’s Rules would be when Delia offers body shots to a group of co-eds if they can bring her back her favorite flower. Jace walks in bearing a bouquet of said flowers and decides to teach her a lesson. :-)

The bathtub scene in Seducing His Wife is my favorite scene. This is after Sheridan has told Matthew why she really left and after he professes his love for her he proposes.

Naughty – What do you like about writing?

W. Lynn – I love being about to create people and worlds. The freedom to be anything or anyone without censure is a welcome break from the reality of rules.

Naughty – What is your least favorite part about writing?

W. Lynn – My least favorite part of writing is the synopsis. I can rattle off pages of dialogue, description, or sex, but when it comes to the synopsis—I’d rather fold laundry.

Naughty – How can readers find you?

W. Lynn – Readers can find me Blog: http://wlynnchantale-decadentdecisions.blogspot.com/

Naughty in the Backseat would like to welcome Ella Jade, author of Be My Everything to the blog.  Today she is dropping by to answer a few questions and to share a bit about her book.

Naughty – Describe yourself in 20 words or less

Ella – I can’t do anything in 20 words or less. I’m a wordy thing! I’m an energetic, SAHM to two active boys. When I’m not writing, I’m kickboxing, attending PTO meetings and chasing after my kids.

Naughty – Why do you want to be a writer?  What started you on this journey?

Ella – For as long as I can remember, the words and dialogue have always played out in my head. Being a writer isn’t something I want to do, it’s something I need to do. I have to tell the stories.

Naughty – What is your favorite part about writing?

Ella – Creating all of those fun and interesting characters. The people in my stories can be anyone I want them to be. My favorite part is having my two main characters connect to one another. I love coming up with that emotional bond that brings them together.

Naughty – What do you find the most difficult part of writing?

Ella – For me, it’s not hard coming up with the ideas. It’s finding the time to devote to my stories. It’s getting easier now that my boys are in school full time. I’m finding that I can dedicate more hours a day to my craft. That’s a really good thing!

Naughty – Describe your latest release for us.

Ella – Be My Everything is my first BDSM Romance. It’s about two people who enter into the perfect sexual arrangement, no strings attached. But, what happens when their hearts get in the way?

While it explores the training aspect of the BDSM lifestyle, it’s not hardcore. The story focuses more on the developing relationship between a Dominant and his submissive. It’s ultimately a love story.

Naughty – What is your favorite character in this release?

Ella – Lucas is my favorite character in this novel. He’s strong, sexy and domineering, but he has a softer side. I liked being able to explore what would happen when a man so bent on never falling in love has to relinquish the control and give in to his true feelings. He’s flawed but has so much potential.

Naughty – What is your favorite scene?

Ella – It’s hard to pick just one because there’s a whole lot of heat going on in this book.  If I had to pick one, I’m going with the chapter entitled “Luke’s Bedroom”. That chapter marks the turning point in the novel and I think we start to see Luke’s true feelings floating to the surface. It’s a lighter scene and there’s a nice exchange between the two main characters.

Naughty – Where can your fans find you?

Ella – I love making new friends. Readers can connect with me over on my blog http://ellajadeauthor.blogspot.com. You can also find me on twitter @ellajade1 and FB http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001950837414.

Naughty – Where can your books be found?

Ella – Be My Everything – Beachwalk Press – http://beachwalkpress.com/be-my-everything/

Naughty – Anything else you’d like to add?

Ella – Thanks for having me. I look forward to making new friends. I have a busy Fall ahead of me with two more releases scheduled. The Lonely Dominant will be available on 11/14/11 from Noble Romance Publishers and my first m/m Romance, Embracing the Unexpected is scheduled for December with Beachwalk Press. Follow me for all the details.

Ella Jade has been writing for as long as she
can remember. As a child, she often had a
notebook and pen with her and now as an
adult, the laptop is never far. The plots and
dialogue have always played out in her
head, but she never knew what to do with
them. That all changed when she discovered
the EBooks industry. She started penning
novels at a rapid pace and now she can’t be
stopped.

Ella resides in New Jersey with her husband
and two young boys. When she’s not chasing after her kids, she’s busy writing, kickboxing and
scrapbooking. She hope’s you’ll get lost in her words.

Naughty in the Backseat would like to welcome Patricia Green to the blog! She is dropping by to chat and to answer some of my questions! She is currently touring with Goddessfish Promotions and we are happy she decided to drop by today!

Naughty – Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Patricia – The most exciting thing about me is my imagination. It’s been on overdrive for a very long time. When I was first in college, I studied theater arts and then spent about ten years working as an actress and assistant director in California. Later, I went back to school to major in English. I enjoyed the academic life very much, during my time studying English, and wrote quite a bit of literary analysis. Although I’d written imaginative things all along, it was this exposure to literary analysis that spurred me on to write for publication seriously.
I have a very simple family life, with a husband I adore and two grown-up daughters (twins). We live in Virginia, near Washington, DC, where I am an avid Capitals (hockey) fan. I also read quite a bit, crochet, and stitch plastic canvas items.

Naughty – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your work
Patricia – I was first published as a child, when a teacher submitted a poem I’d written to a children’s magazine. I knew I loved writing then. I went on to write frequently, but my mistaken notion was that everyone can write, so I didn’t take it seriously. After my daughters were born, I was inspired to write a novel that had rattled around in my head for about 15 years, and a publisher got interested in my work. That was the beginning of my writing career.
Although I have written in several sub-genres, all my books are romance stories. Most recently, I produced two romantic erotic spanking novellas and one contemporary erotic romance novelette. The spanking novellas are serialized on Bethany’s Woodshed, and the contemporary romance, Psyched Out, was a foray into self-publishing. Self-publishing is a sort of experiment for me. Everything up to that point has been distributed through ePublishers. Thus far, I’ve written 13 published books (two were published under a pseudonym and one is an out-of-print paperback).
Naughty – Do you have a favorite character?
Patricia – That’s a hard question because every character I come up with becomes my baby. I love them all, even the bad guys. I suppose I’m partial to Glee Montrose in my historical romance, Under Wraps. She’s quirky, determined and a redhead like me. Even though the book takes place in 1852, I can relate to her desire to find a niche and write. Her characteristics are easily understood in modern times, while her challenges are often historical in nature.
Naughty -Do you have any type of scene that is harder to write than others?
Patricia – I tend to write chronologically, so when I include backstory or memory tidbits, I have to work at it. Books should not be a recitation of events. Sometimes a writer has to save information and parcel it out as it’s needed rather than as it happens.
Naughty – How long have you been writing?
Patricia – I’ve been writing seriously since 1993. I had to take a few years off when my children needed extra help and when I had a health problem. You could say that now that all my extraneous distractions are cleared up, I’m going gang-busters.
Naughty – Describe your typical writing day?
Patricia – I am not a morning person. I start working at around 9:00 a.m. and the morning is about responding to email, doing promotions and generally performing technical tasks. My afternoons are spent researching and writing. I quit writing at 5:30 p.m. and, although I might jot down ideas in the evening, I don’t write again until I start up the next day.
Naughty – How important do you find the communication between you and your readers?  Do you reply to their messages or read their reviews?
Patricia – I respond to every reader letter, so email is a pleasant but time-consuming job. When I participate in blog activity, I respond to every comment. I was advised not to read reviews, but I just can’t help myself, I read them all. I love being in contact with readers.
Naughty – Where can your fans find you?
Patricia – I’m all over the place! Here are some addresses:
    Twitter: @PatriciaIGreen
Naughty – Where is your work available?
Patricia – There are links and excerpts to all of my work on my website, http://www.patriciagreenbooks.com , and the full eBooks are distributed in several places, but I’ll supply you with the Amazon links for most of them here (otherwise you’d have quite a long list of links!).
Psyched Out: Amazon, Smashwords, All Romance eBooks, Barnes & Noble, and soon, Apple, and Sony. The Amazon link is here: http://amzn.to/qMSKr6
Strong, Silent Type and Kiki’s Millionaire: serialized at Bethany’s Woodshed online. Bethany’s Woodshed (a membership site) is here: http://www.herwoodshed.com
Naughty – Anything else you would like to add?
Patricia – I’d like to share my enthusiasm for the eBook revolution with your readers. The world of books is getting digital, and I think it opens a treasure trove of possibilities for both writers and readers. My little experiment with self-publishing is an exploration of this new paradigm. I have been an eBook writer from the time of the first eBook publisher’s inception, and I will continue to make eBooks the foundation of my writing.
It has been my pleasure to spend time with you here today. I encourage readers to drop me a note. Thank you for your hospitality!
Naughty is in the Backseat would like to thank Patricia for dropping by and chatting with us!

    Author bio:

Having begun her writing career at the tender age of seven by publishing a poem in a children’s magazine, Ms. Green has spent many years at typewriter and keyboard. She’s the author of 8 published projects (7 ebooks; and one out-of-print traditional book).

She is a member of EPIC, the Erotic Authors Association, and the Erotica Readers and Writers Association.

Ms. Green resides in the Washington DC area, is married to her best friend, and is the mother of twin daughters.

Naughty in the Backseat would like to welcome Madison J. Edwards to the blog!  She is the author of According to Plan – a very interesting sounding book!  She has dropped by to answer a few questions and to tell us about her new book!

Romance – Please tell us about yourself?

Madison – I was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada. Growing up around farmers and ranchers I always assumed I’d be a rancher’s wife, raise four boys and volunteer to make pies for community functions. Imagine my surprise when I found myself married to an Air Force pilot, moving all over the country, and towing around two boys instead of four.

Although I live in a large urban center, close to Toronto, I’m still a small town girl who has a compulsion to smile and say ‘hi’ to everyone. They could be your neighbor ‘doncha know’. I’m a member of Romance Writers of America, Toronto Romance Writers and Passionate Ink.

Romance – What inspired you to write your first book?

Madison – I’ve read romances for as long as I can remember, and have always had characters dancing around in my head. When it came time to craft my own story, I pulled from the many dreams I’d had since a young teen girl who fell in love with the dashing rogue, or despicable Earl who’d seduced the vicar’s daughter.

With that in mind, my first manuscript became inspired by every book I’d read and wished I had written. A mish mash of what I thought a story should hold, full of exciting scenes exploding with passion and romance, with a deliciously handsome rake and the requisite innocent virgin. Within this woeful diatribe, every cliché and mistake a new author could make found its way onto the page. At the time I thought it was brilliant. Not. It was horse-puckey. ‘Charlotte’s Fall’ never made it off my computer. Thank god

Then, after the above fiasco, I began to write what eventually evolved into According to Plan.

Romance – What books have most influenced your life most?

Madison – I’m sooooo dating myself with this answer… Barbara Cartland. First bonafide romance author I ever read. I bought every book she wrote. Second influence, as with a lot of romance writers, were Harlequin pocket novels.

Romance – Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Madison – This author is new to me – Lila DePasqua. She writes scorching hot. Wear oven mitts when you pick up one of her books. Yowsa. She has written three books with the sauciest spin on fairy tales you’ll ever find.

Romance – Who is your favorite author, and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Madison – I picked up one of Karen Marie Moning’s books, and fell in love.

What struck me was my anticipation of ‘the act’ between hero and heroine. How did she do that? So I took my favorite book, The Immortal Highlander, and put it under the microscope. When and where did she start the sexual tension between the two leads?  What I found opened my eyes. It wasn’t just one scene, or even two. She wove the tension for chapters, culminating with Adam prowling around our virginal miss. Oh, I couldn’t wait for him to claim her in every sense of the word.

Romance – What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Madison – Everyday life of my characters. For me, love/erotic scenes are easy, and action a whole lot of fun, but when it comes to mundane, everyday things, I want to throw the computer across the room. If I’m bored writing it, you’re bored reading it. I struggle to make them interesting, doing nothing. *bang head on desk*

Romance – Do you have any advice for other writers?

Madison – The way to learn how to write is to write. The way to become a better writer is to write. Park your tuckus in front of your laptop, notepad, computer, legal sized scrap paper (if you’re old school) and write. The only thing stopping you from writing/completing your story is you.

Note to self: Follow my advice….

Romance – Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Madison – I have no desires to become a New York Time’s Bestselling author. My goal is to create a story that keeps you enchanted, and wanting to read more. If you fall in love with my characters, like I have, then I’ve done my job.

Romance – What are readers saying about According to Plan?

Madison – I’m glad you asked, because they are the people who bought my book, read it, and then took the time to find my website or send me a message through Facebook, and told me what they thought.

Here is one I received a few weeks ago. Imagine the dancing string of 5 stars across the top.

This is the first novel I’ve read by Madison J. Edwards, and I was thrilled and smiling by the time I put it down tonight. A strong, sexy alpha with a soft side and a strong, funny, sexy female lead made for a believable, heartrending, suspenseful ride right to the end. Well written, snappy dialogue, both humorous and tearful scenes, hot sex, and a terrific story line with a fairy-tale ending. I look forward to Ms. Edwards’ future full-length novels.

Naughty in the Backseat would like to welcome Ashley Christman to the blog! She is touring with Goddessfish Productions, talking about her books. Read on to find out about what Ashley has written!

Naughty – Tell us a little about yourself

Ashley – I’m a writer by passion, nurse by profession, and an all around miscreant by preference (just kidding about the miscreant part). I’m a huge fan of film-noir and classic films, a passion that seems to work itself into my writing.
Naughty – Where would you live if you could live anywhere in the world?
Ashley – A flat in Chelsea London or an apartment in Paris overlooking the Champs-Elysee.
Naughty – If you couldn’t be a writer, what you would be?
Ashley – I’ve never thought of that. I suppose I would just be a nurse.
Naughty – When you made your first sale, how did you celebrate and with whom?
Ashley – I celebrated with my boyfriend by going out to dinner. I know, boring, right? But I had to work the next morning and on the Brightside, we got Mexican food (my fave).
Naughty – Can you let us know about the books you have written?
Ahsley – The Witching Hour is about a man who gets trapped in a mystery involving murder, family secrets, and the madness of the gods.
Requiem is a memoir of sorts about a vampire named Kate who has become disenchanted by life after five thousand years.
The newest one, Nightingale is the tale of Grace Caldwell, a vampire-sidhe PhD. who has to help her FBI agent ex-boyfriend solve some serial killings all while navigation faery politics and vampire politics alike.
Naughty – What is due out next?
Ashley – Nightingale will be out on October 17, 2011.
Naughty – What’s the hardest part of writing a book?
Ashley – Besides blurbs and synopsis writing, I’d say its characterization. The characters have to be as three dimensional as possible. Sometimes that involves having a little inner dialogue to help move that part along.
Naughty – What’s your favorite part of writing a book?
Ashley – Discovering all the twists and turns in the plot as I write. It’s always fun to see where the characters are going.
Naughty – Do you have an all time favorite book?
Ashley – I have a couple. Brave New World, by Adolus Huxley, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.
Naughty – Where can readers find your books?
Ashley – They can find my books at Amazon, Barnes and Noble.com, omnilit…basically wherever ebooks are sold.
Naughty – How can readers stay in touch?
Ashley – Readers can stay in touch by going to my website (www.ashleymchristman.com), or by visiting my facebook fan page.

We’d like to thank Ashley for dropping by the blog today and chatting with us!  Please drop by Ashley’s various sites listed below, say hi and find out more.

    First Timer FridayFirst Timer Friday

    with C. Zampa

Join us in meeting some of the new authors on the scene every Friday.  Hear what the newbies have to say and discover your new favorite author.

    1) How does it feel to be an Author Virgin?

CZ- What a good word for it, because it feels just like that…a virgin’s first time. All the excitement leading up to it, then THE event. And that wonderful high when the book goes live.

    2) How well do you really know your characters?  Underwear preference?  Favorite flavor of ice cream?  Coffee or Tea?

CZ- Oh, I LOVE this question! Underwear? Oh, Candelario would wear NO underwear. If he did, he’d wear those nice white, tight briefs. Ice cream? Hmmm. He’s not really an ice cream fellow at all. And coffee. Definitely coffee. In fact, there’s a coffee scene in the book.

    3) What music are you listening to lately?

CZ- Would you believe it? Hispanic music! Traditional, club techno. It started as inspiration for my novella, which is primarily Hispanic, but I grew to love the spicy, sexy music.

Eduardo Yanez4) If you were going to cast the hero of your book, what actor would get the part?

CZ- Wow. These are fantastic questions! I would pick, without hesitation, the Hispanic actor, Eduardo Yanez.

    5) How likely are people you meet to end up in your next book?

CZ- Giggling at this one. My entire office is practically in my book! They’ve even allowed me to use some of their names. But it is VERY likely.

    About the Author:

    C. Zampa’s earliest stories were not written words, but drawings. Adventures, romances–all drawn in comic book style, complete with dialogue bubbles. Countless hours were spent in her room with her Mead Academie sketch pad and pencils. While the stereo headphones piped the classics into her ears, she feverishly sketched the wonderful characters who lived in her head, creating little vignettes for them.
Even her early drawings reflected romance as she felt it–erotic, sensual, natural, uninhibited.
In her pseudo-hippie days of high school, she began to write. Her teachers encouraged her to take her writing seriously, but to her it was strictly for pleasure. Once entering the working world, she left writing behind; but, a few years ago, overwhelmed by a need to create, she opened a blank document and began to write again and has not stopped since.

    1) Who did you dedicate your book to and why?

JJ- First, my husband, because no matter how many rejections, he kept telling me I could do it! Then my critique partners, Barb and Sara Ann, because without them there would be no RAFE. The read and re-read when it was really bad (lol) and helped me become a better writer. Finally, my mom, because she gave me first romance book to read.

    2) If you could choose to time travel would you go forward or backward?

JJ- Backward. But then I’d be the rebellious, opinionated woman they’d lock in an asylum. And I’d want to take a stash of Tylenol. Oh, and tampons.

    3) What makes your First book Naughty?

JJ- Besides the smokin’ hot sex?

    4) Things that go bump in the night, Scary Real in your book or Scary Sexy?

JJ- Well if it’s something bumping under my bed, scary. If it’s me and the hubby bumping on the bed, sexy;)

    5) What was the best advice you were given leading you to getting published?

JJ- Don’t give up. And that’s the advice I’d give to any author.

    About the Author:

After trying several careers—everything from a beautician to a dump truck driver—Jennifer finally returned to her first love, writing. Maybe it was all those Clint Eastwood movies she watched growing up, but in her opinion there is no better read than a steamy western historical.

Married to her very own hero, she lives on fifteen acres along with two beautiful daughters, two elderly horses, and two hyper dogs. During the summer she does Civil War re-enacting and has found  it a great research tool, not to mention she has continued appreciation for her microwave and hot water heater.

    1) How does it feel to be an Author Virgin?

JL- **Laughs** “Author Virgin huh? What a great way to phrase it. I’m popping that cherry as we speak and with fingers crossed that things will turn out well.

I love to read and write, I’ve done so for years. I have three children and it wasn’t until after my last child, and only daughter came along that I decided to publish my work. It’s an amazing feeling to know that I’ve accomplished my goal. I’m excited but also feel nervous all at once. It’s been a great experience so far, and I hope that you all enjoy “Meant To Be” as much as I have.

    2) What is the scariest part of sending out that first book?

JL-  That it’s not going to be good enough. This is a subjective field and very competitive. Rejection hurts, and it’s hard not to take that personal sometimes.  We’ve all been there. The key is to keep trying. Learn from your mistakes and don’t take no for an answer.  Stubbornness comes in handy sometimes.

    3) How likely are people you meet to end up in your next book?

JL- It’s likely, I confess that there are certain traits that I sometimes use but I also tend to put a lot of myself into my stories as well. I write about things that I can relate too and can only hope that others can relate as well. If I choose to use someone that I know or a certain trait that reminds me of them then I’ll let them know. Most often they’re flattered to be included.

    4) If you were given the opportunity to live on another planet would you go?

JL- To live there? Meh, I don’t know about that. I may have to vacation there first to see if I liked it before making that type of commitment. My husband claims that I’m picky although I tend to disagree.  I just know what I like.

    5) If you could choose to time travel would you go forward or backward?

JL- If I could time travel I’d like to do both, but since that’s not an option, I think I’d go backward first. If I only knew then what I know now sort of thing…. I would have definitely done a few things differently and hopefully changed a few outcomes. There would be far less embarrassing moments and hardships. Childhood was tough and in some instances traumatic for me.
