So readers, let’s face it.  Some jobs have sex appeal.  It is just a fact.  While others are not so very appetizing.  So this week I have invited some naughty authors to come in and share their thoughts.

What profession lights their fire and why, how, who…

The inspiration for this week and today’s blog?

Sports.

I don’t watch or follow them except 1 and I am pretty clueless, though I have read some romances that feature players.  On the scedule tonight was the Lakers game for the BF and some of his family – which left me staring at the very tall basketball stars and thinking I had never read a book with a basketball player as the hero.

Football – Yes

Nascar – Yes

Baseball – Yes

Hockey – Yes

I have heard the rumor of wrestling, Golf might be there somewhere, soccer has to be, Boxing, equestrian, runners, and for such a large sport basketball seems to fall in here with popularity.  Do you know any books that show sports/player/participant Heros?

Am I forgetting any sports?

Are some sports just sexier then others?

I like the wrestlers  – I blame BF for making me watch the WWE.  -  Fine I confess – I like it too.

My Faves are shown below and I confess it was a struggle – I really, REALLY do not watch sports.

Brian McBride Soccer

Randy Orton – I love him and this shot is back before he ruined his perfect tatoos and got the new sleeves

  • Nicole S:

I like Randy Orton even though I have drifted away from wrestling. I liked his tattoos before his whole arms were covered. I’m a huge baseball fan so I do know some books with a baseball player as the hero. Kate Angell writes a few different sports heroes. Jill Shalvis and Joanne Rock both have written baseball ones. I’ve read ones about hockey players, boxers, football players, and I have one in my TBR pile with a polo player as the hero. I do like heroes that play sports especially baseball and football. I do recall one about a basketball player though.

  • Hmmm… I’m pretty sure there’s at least one book I’ve read with a basketball player as the main hero.

I’m not entirely certain, but I think it was one of the T.A. Chase ‘Love of Sport’ series. Twin brothers, one an actor, the other a pro basketball player, both gay… the actor ends up with a Nascar driver and the basketball player with a club owner… I think. *ponders*
